After an impressive 30-17 win over the Oakland Raiders yesterday, here are my five thoughts on the game. What did you think about the Ravens win?

I’ll be honest, I didn’t have high expectations for the Baltimore Ravens on this West Coast trip. But much to my surprise, we saw a different football team from the previous two weeks. The Ravens came into a tough environment at the Oakland Coliseum and were impressive on both sides of the ball in a 30-17 win.

There’s a lot of think about and here are my five thoughts following the win.

***Bonus thought: The all white uniforms were fire and I hope we see more of them this season.

5. Injuries continue to take a toll

It wouldn’t be a game for the Baltimore Ravens if they didn’t have any injuries. Even with an impressive win on the road, injuries were still the common narrative. This time, three different Ravens went down with injuries. Matt Skura left with a MCL sprain, Terrance West with a calf injury and Carl Davis a hamstring injury. As it’s been all season this team can’t seem to catch a break.

So far, we know that Skura will be out at least 2-4 weeks, but there’s been no further news on West or Davis. From the way John Harbaugh sounded yesterday, it sounds like West could miss a considerable amount of time. West hasn’t played well the past few weeks, but it’s more depth lost at the running back position.

The Ravens have been able to overcome so many injuries, but I wonder how long they can keep this going. There “next man up” narrative only works for so long. At some point, it’s going to be too much to handle, especially against the better teams of the NFL.
