Baltimore Ravens: 3 players vital to beating Bears
By Dustin Cox
Terrell Suggs
Veteran pass rusher Terrell Suggs seemed to be in for a monster year with his performances in the first two weeks. He recorded several sacks and even a couple of forced fumbles. Since then, however, his production has fallen off. He recorded a sack last week against Oakland but hasn’t terrorized quarterbacks like he did in the first two games. Facing a struggling offense with a rookie QB at the helm has to have Suggs licking his chops.
If Suggs can make his presence felt Sunday, then Trubisky could be in for a nightmare of a game. There aren’t many things more satisfying than watching the seasoned gladiator Terrell Suggs feast on a young rookie QB. I hope this will be the case this upcoming game. Suggs doesn’t necessarily have to record any sacks himself, but by collapsing the pocket from his side he makes it much easier for other players to get to the QB. The Ravens will need a strong push from their pass rushers.

A very underrated skill of Suggs is his ability against the run. He is an extremely savvy player with a very high football IQ. This helps him to sniff out plays and to allow his teammates to be in a position to make a stop. He will need to be at his best this Sunday against Chicago’s running backs. The Ravens have failed to set the edges properly on several runs in recent weeks and that has allowed for some big plays against them. Suggs will need to not only set the edge properly but be able to get off of blocks and make a one on one tackle against Howard or Cohen if need be. If he can’t do this than they very well could bust outside for some big gains and make it a long day for the Ravens.
