The Baltimore Ravens are about to do battle with the Chicago Bears. The first thing we can expect is a tough day for Mitchell Trubisky:

The Chicago Bears’ rookie quarterback is going to have a rough day in Baltimore. Yes, the Bears are giving Mitchell Trubisky his second start. In his first start, Trubisky struggled against the Vikings. With a potential game winning drive in front of him, the young passer threw the game away. The Ravens have nine interceptions on the season, so don’t be surprised if the Ravens pick Trubisky off once or twice.

Trubisky can’t keep playing the way he did in his first game. If he does, Tony Jefferson and Eric Weddle are going to light up receivers and tight ends at will. If he doesn’t learn from his mistakes, he’s just going to get pummeled. The biggest problem that I noticed when I took a look at Trubisky’s performance last week, was that he was a transparent thrower. I commented on this already in a previous post.

I just can’t see Trubisky being the rookie quarterback that breaks the Ravens streak of stopping rookie quarterbacks at M&T Bank Stadium. He is an unpolished project that the Bears are getting on the job training. The Bears are hopeful that he is the future. They know he isn’t going to light it up now. Ravens fans are aware of this, they’ve had rookie quarterbacks wearing purple before.

The Bottom Line:

I wasn’t high on Trubisky coming out of college. Honestly, I just didn’t see it. He was a gunslinger at UNC but nothing screamed special about him to me. He has only had one game in the NFL, but that one game looked reminiscent of a young Kyle Boller. Every Ravens fan knows how bad that is. The Bears took a shot to find their new franchise quarterback. Sadly, I think they got the wrong guy.

Even if Trubisky is the right person for the job, it isn’t going to go well for him today. The Ravens defense specializes in interceptions and sacks. This looks like a big day for the defense and an easy confidence booster.
