It is time for Baltimore Ravens to give Gary Kubiak a call?

The Baltimore Ravens offense has struggled for far too long, so it is time for them to see if the guy that once made them elite will come back.

The 2014 was the last year the Baltimore Ravens made the playoffs. That year, Gary Kubiak was the offensive coordinator and the Ravens had a franchise year. A super bowl caliber offense got them to the divisional playoffs against New England. Joe Flacco and company were about 40 yards away from winning.

Kubiak then left for his dream job as the head coach in Denver. That year, he won the Super Bowl with Peyton Manning while the Ravens had their worse year since John Harbaugh became coach. However, stresses of being a head coach became too much for Kubiak and he retired from coaching.

It was said that Kubiak found “contentment” with being the Ravens offensive coordinator. If that’s true, maybe he would be willing to come back. He could save the ravens from their anemic offensive scheme.

Bringing back Kubiak wouldn’t make Breshad Perriman catch the ball or keep Alex Collins from fumbling. It certainly wouldn’t keep the offensive line from getting injured. However, would help bring the best out of the one guy most essential to the offense: Flacco. Joe Flacco has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL since Kubiak left. He was also a top 10 quarterback for the year he was here. If Kubiak could fix Flacco, he may fix the offense.

There is no guarantee that Kubiak would want to come back. Though, there is certainly no harm in giving him a call. Kubiak would almost certainly help fix the offense and at least make them average and fun to watch.

It’s time for a change, and the Ravens are sick of having watched Marc Trestman and Marty Mornhinweg. They don’t establish a run game and call dink and dunk passes. They don’t call to Flacco’s strengths, and while Joe certainly has been awful, the play calling has not been helpful.

The Bottom Line:

We know the Ravens lack playmakers and a quality quarterback, but bringing back Kubiak may bring the best out of the offense and help the Ravens get back to where they belong: in the playoffs.
