After a promising 2-0 start to the 2017 season, the Baltimore Ravens have lost four of their last five games. They sit at second place in the AFC North with a very disappointing record of 3-4. Is there still hope that the Ravens can make the playoffs at this point?

I don’t think many fans predicted that we would be sitting here at 3-4 after such a great start. An astounding number of injuries play a large role in the team’s failures, but that is not the only reason. Ozzie Newsome and the front office almost completely ignored the offense this offseason and it is really starting to show. There is a huge lack of quality depth on the offensive side of the ball.

To make matters much worse, the defense that dominated opponents in the first two weeks, which Ozzie invested very heavily in to make it the best unit in football, has struggled immensely in stopping the run. An overwhelmingly incompetent offense plus a defense that can’t get off the field quickly is a recipe for disaster.
