The Baltimore Ravens put together one of their most impressive performances of the season with a 40-0 shutout against the Miami Dolphins. Here are my five thoughts from the game.

It’s the game the Baltimore Ravens needed. After losing four out of their last five games, the Ravens came into prime time last Thursday night a demolished the Dolphins. The game was never even close as the Ravens went on to win 40-0.

This game had about everything you could think of. At points it even looked more like a WWE match than a football game, but nevertheless, the Ravens are 4-4 and very much in the AFC playoff race.

Now with a day to let it all sink in, here are my five thoughts from the game.

5. It’s not a bye, but much needed long week of rest

After three road games and trip across the pond to London, the Ravens get much needed rest this week. It’s not a bye week, but playing on Thursday night gives the players three extra days of rest. It’s a much needed break for a team decimated by injuries, especially to starting quarterback Joe Flacco.

As expected, Flacco is currently in concussion protocol but could be cleared and ready to play against the Titans next Sunday. That probably wouldn’t be the case in a normal week, but the Ravens have that luxury by playing on Thursday.

If for some reason Flacco stays in concussion protocol and isn’t cleared by next week, he’d realistically only miss one game. The Ravens have their bye week following their Week 9 road game against the Titans.
