The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Miami Dolphins with a stylish 40 point win. A team that has made things brutally difficult in the previous weeks, made it look easy on Thursday.

The Baltimore Ravens got a huge win on Thursday night. The Ravens scored three offensive touchdowns in this game. That’s huge for a scoring impaired team. The offense also set up a pair of Justin Tucker field goals. The defense got into the scoring action as well. C.J. Mosley had a pick six, and his 63 yard return was incredible. Jimmy Smith had a pick six that was the icing on a pretty sweet cake. The Ravens should feel no shame for running up the score.

The Dolphins gave the Ravens extra motivation

Kiko Alonso launched himself at Joe Flacco’s head. Flacco left the game after looking woozy on his way up. Austin Howard apparently got poked in the eye after Ndamukong Suh threw his little fit. The Dolphins gave the Ravens every reason to put the hurt on them.

What is it about the Dolphins that brings out the best the Ravens have? Years ago Ed Reed and the rest of the Ravens defense victimized Chad Pennington for 5 interceptions in the playoffs. Last year the Ravens beat the Dolphins 38-6. This is a team that the Ravens just always seem to throttle. Just like the 38-6 game, it was hard to see this coming. Most experts saw this as a toss up game and few people thought either team would look all that good. The narrative wrote itself. Joe Flacco vs. Matt Moore, on a Thursday… nothing to see here, right? Nope, the Ravens brought their A game and had their way.

Here we are a day after a Ravens win. What can we take away from this 40-0 victory? Here is my three big things from the beat down.
