Here’s a look at the seven inactive players for the Baltimore Ravens as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
It’s one of sports’ best rivalries on Sunday Night Football, what more could you want? The Baltimore Ravens take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in just about an hour and it’s set to be a great game. Both teams are vying for a playoff spot and have a legitimate shot for a postseason run. The Steelers lead the AFC North while the Ravens are in the driver’s seat for the final wild-card spot.
Ahead of this exciting matchup, the Ravens have released their inactives for tonight’s game. And looking at it, there’s not really any surprises.
For the third time in four weeks, Breshad Perriman will be a healthy scratch. It’s the right decision and a smart move by the coaching staff. The former 2015 first-round pick has had no impact on the field this season. The Ravens elected to go with an extra defensive lineman in rookie Chris Wormley instead. It won’t be surprising to see Perriman released this offseason. He lacks any confidence and if he’s got a future in the NFL it isn’t with the Ravens.
Running back Terrance West is also the other notable inactive. Since returning from his calf injury, West hasn’t been needed in the backfield. John Harbaugh has chosen to go with the backfield of Alex Collins, Buck Allen, and Danny Woodhead. Unless any of them go down with injury, there’s no need for West. West is an unrestricted free agent next season and much like Perriman will likely be on his way out of Baltimore this offseason.
Other than Perriman and West, there really aren’t any surprises. Za’Darius Smith missed practice all week with a shoulder injury and was doubtful to play heading into today. Newly promoted cornerback Stanley Jean-Baptiste is also inactive. If he has a role in the secondary, it won’t be until a couple of more weeks.
