Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh gave positive injury updates for wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and defensive tackle Carl Davis.
The Ravens took care of business as usual in a 27-10 win over the Browns but didn’t leave Cleveland without injuries. Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (knee) and Carl Davis (leg) were ruled out of the game in the first half.
The good news is, neither injury is expected to be season-ending, according to head coach John Harbaugh. In his weekly press conference, Harbaugh said that the MRIs showed “nothing serious” for Maclin or Davis.
That being said, whether Maclin or Davis play on Saturday against the Colts is still up in the air. We’ll have a better idea of that as the week goes on and the injury reports come out. If I had to take my guess I’d say neither suit up.
Maclin is no stranger to injuries and missed four games last season with the Chiefs. He’s been a disappointment in his first season with the Ravens, notching just 440 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 12 starts. With the way things have played out, it doesn’t seem the fit feels right for Maclin or the Ravens but that’s a conversation to have during the offseason. For the time being, the Ravens will hope to have Maclin back Week 17 against the Bengals at the very latest.
Davis left in the second quarter with a leg injury and did not return. He has stepped up in his third season and has become a valuable rotation player on the defensive line. With the absence of Brent Urban, Davis has been quality depth for the Ravens this season. If he misses Saturday, expect Chris Wormley or Bronson Kaufusi to be active.
Other injury news
Aside from Maclin and Davis, running back Alex Collins was sidelined with injury most of the game. After a breakout game against the Steelers, Collins was held to just 19 rushing yards on 12 carries. The Ravens kept him out the final series of the game for precautionary reasons and Harbaugh said today that Collins came away from the game in good shape.
Collins has been the top offensive weapon and quite the find for the Ravens this season. He’s averaging 4.9 yards per carry and is a can’t-lose player for the offense down the stretch. It is good to know, though, that running Buck Allen could pick up the slack in his absence.

The Ravens have a short week with the Saturday game but they are back home and will look to take advantage of a Colts team decimated with injuries. It should be another step for the Ravens as they work closer towards a wild-card berth.
