Even enduring injury after injury, the Baltimore Ravens have still put themselves in a position to win.

The Baltimore Ravens had a tough start to the 2017 season. It featured season-ending Injuries to Alex Lewis, Marshal Yanda, Tavon Young, and Albert McClellan. Danny Woodhead and Maurice Canady were placed on injured reserve as well before being brought back mid-season. Not to mention, Joe Flacco and Breshad Perriman were out for most of training camp and preseason.

However, since then, the Ravens have stayed relatively healthy (knock on wood). Jimmy Smith and now Jaylen Hill are out with season-ending injuries, and Jeremy Maclin is a bit banged up. Besides that though, they have been fortunate.

Watching the rest of the league dropping like flies make you appreciate it even more. The Green Bay Packers lost their entire offensive line and not to mention their star quarterback. The Raiders lost Derek Carr for some time and have also had injuries to their offensive line and defense. And the Texans were playing without J.J. Watt and with their fourth-string quarterback against the Steelers just a week ago.

Football will always have plenty of injuries. The Ravens definitely have had their fair share of them. The 2015 season was the roughest year of all. A bad start to this year and past issues with injuries had fans ready to drive the medical staff out the stadium.

However, the Ravens have bounced back strong. Injuries to Lewis, Yanda, Young, and Smith have sucked but for the Ravens to be able to perform on the offensive line and secondary without those players is special.

This Ravens team has an opportunity to make some noise in the postseason. They can credit that to superb defense and special teams and just enough offense. But also, they can credit it with good luck with injuries for the most part.

I’m sorry for all those superstitious readers out there. But there is no denying that the Ravens have finally stayed healthy. I’m sure that there are players banged up, but it is football. Hopefully, they can keep players this healthy throughout the rest of the postseason and I sure do hope this luck can continue for the Ravens in years to come.
