Now more so than ever, it’s time for the Baltimore Ravens to draft offense:
The Baltimore Raven’s season came to a heartbreaking end on New Year’s Eve. Leaving a sour taste in the team and fans mouth’s. The same sour taste that it started 2017 off with, due to Antonio Brown’s TD on Christmas. This loss might just be a bit more depressing than the year before. Quite frankly because they should’ve had it in the bag. The loss came on a 49-yard touchdown on a 4th and twelve. Yes, a fourth and twelve. After watching their offense in the first half of Sundays game, it was hard to believe that this team was in any position to make the playoffs. Only accumulating two first downs, and a number of dropped balls, Ozzie has to hit on some offensive talent come April.
The defense that Ozzie Newsome and the front office had invested so much time and draft picks into folded. It folded for the second year in a row, on a 4th and twelve where they only needed one more stop. With the amount of linebackers and defensive tackles Ozzie has drafted, you would think this team would have a premier pass rush. But, that’s not the case. The most consistent pass rusher The Ravens have is 35-year-old Terrell Suggs. Who, thank the football gods, doesn’t seem to be aging.
The team just hasn’t gotten great production from their day two and three guys and it shows. Kamalei Correa played three defensive snaps, Chris Wormley played three as well, Tyus Bowser had one, and Tim Williams was a healthy scratch. Along with Bronson Kaufusi and Breshad Perriman. Ozzie Newsome as to do a better job of putting talent on the field for John Harbaugh and Joe Flacco. Flacco has certainly digressed since winning the Super Bowl in 2012. You have to tell the whole story, he hasn’t gotten much to work with since then either. 2018 has to bring the Baltimore Ravens more talent on offense.
