Round 2: Sony Michel – RB – Georgia

If you hadn’t heard of Sony Michel before this week, you should now after Monday night’s Rose Bowl game. Michel got the ball 11 times for 181 yards and three touchdowns. Averaging 16.5 yards a carry, also having four catches for 41 yards and another touchdown. On the biggest stage, against The Nation’s second ranked program. Michel ran for over 1100 yards in his senior session in the SEC. Averaging eight yards a carry with 16 touchdowns. You also have to take into consideration Michel did this while splitting the carries with Nick Chubb, another high draft prospect. Chubb, getting more of the load. But, Michel averaged more yards per carry and had more touchdowns.

Michel is going to be a premier running back at the next level in the league. It’s not a bold prediction to say he’ll be even more productive at the next level either. Where he’ll get the majority of the load and the carries. A back that can turn the littlest of gaps into highlight reel runs, GMs are going to love this kid. With the amount of talent at Running Back in this draft, I can definitely see him being a day two guy. Ozzie and Eric could have themselves quite the gem here at 48.

Chubb and Michel were thunder and lighting at Georgia, with this pick. Michel and running back Alex Collins could be something similar and would be a dynamic duo in Baltimore. The Ravens can get their next playmaking running back post Ray Rice. A tandem of Collins and Michel could definitely light a flame under this offense that dragged most of 2017.
