From the bottom of our hearts, the Ravens Flock would like to the Jacksonville Jaguars for their 45-42 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers:

The Baltimore Ravens and the Jacksonville Jaguars never really got a long. Back in the old days, they were rivals in the AFC Central. In the past couple of years the Jags have had the Ravens number. Earlier this season, in London, Jacksonville beat the purple and black into submission. It was a 44-7 shellacking  and the worst loss in franchise history. Put all that aside Ravens fans, we’re temporary Jaguars fans now.

The Baltimore Ravens have two really fierce rivalries. Their top rival is the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Jaguars just took them out in thrilling fashion. The Jaguars marched down the field on the very first drive and scored a touchdown. Jacksonville got up to a big lead and they never lost it. The Steelers made it tense, refusing to go down without a fight, but they were eliminated. The Ravens Flocks’ worst fear was that the Steelers could win the Super Bowl, that fear was wiped away by the Jaguars.

The Jaguars play the Ravens second biggest rival next. They take on the New England Patriots. Baltimore has seen the Patriots plenty of times in the playoffs. The Ravens shocked the Patriots in 2009 with a 33-14 victory. 2011 saw Lee Evans and Billy Cundiff cost the team a trip to the Super Bowl. In 2012, Baltimore came right back and won in the AFC Championship game. The rivalry was intensified again in 2014 when the Ravens gave up two 14 point leads and the Patriots advanced to the AFC Championship game.

The Bottom Line:

There probably isn’t one Ravens fan who can stand the Patriots. The Ravens are out of the mix but their fans still have plenty on the line. Having Jacksonville represent the AFC in the Super Bowl would be something to rejoice in. It’s not because Baltimore is invested in the Jaguars success, but rather that the Jaguars success means the Patriots failure.
