5. Jerick McKinnon:

Alex Collins is the number one running back in Baltimore but he needs a complementary piece. Jerick McKinnon would be an upgrade from Javorius Allen at the running back spot. The Ravens clearly want a pass catching running back, why else would they take a flyer on Danny Woodhead? In 2017 Mckinnon caught 51 passes for 421 yards. In 2016 McKinnon had 43 receptions. McKinnon also put up over 500 yards on the ground two seasons in a row. Collins would be the workhorse and McKinnon would be the third down back Woodhead would never stay healthy enough to be.

The Ravens number one need is play-makers and they need them all over the offense. The purple and black have been looking for a back like McKinnon for a while. They drafted Javorius Allen and Kenneth Dixon in back to back years hoping for a do it all kind of player in their backfield. McKinnon has been much more consistent in his career than Allen or Dixon. Dixon suffered a season ending injury before the season even started. Pair that with his PED suspension and you have reason to doubt Dixon will ever reach his full potential. The Ravens keep taking a hack at it; pairing McKinnon with Collins could be a stroke of genius.

This is a move that would be under the radar because it’s not the gigantic splash the Ravens Flock will be hoping for. It’s a complementary piece to the offense. As flashy as McKinnon was a Vikings running back, he would be a role player for Baltimore. If you haven’t noticed however, the Ravens can use all the help they can get on offense.
