9. The playoff streak of 2008-2012:

The Baltimore Ravens went to the playoffs every year from 2008-2012. They won the Super Bowl and went to three AFC Championship games. In 2010 and 2011 the Ravens had consecutive 12 win seasons. In 2011 and 2012 the Ravens had consecutive division championships. Yes, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and a lot of players deserve credit. Yes, John Harbaugh and company did a good job. Who built those teams though? Ozzie did.

Newsome made key decisions throughout that stretch that allowed the Ravens to be successful. A few of these decisions are higher on this list. The Ravens had the golden era of their franchise. It’s hard to imagine the Ravens even replicating that kind of winning with the way things are going at the moment.

The Ravens had trouble keeping the band together after the Super Bowl but look at how long Newsome had the window open. The Ravens had a chance to win it all in every year of that span. It shows you how hard it is to win in the NFL. It also shows you that Newsome is a master of his craft. The Ravens have two Lombardi trophies, largely because of him.
