6. Trading for Anquan Boldin

The Ravens wouldn’t have won the Super Bowl in 2012 without the toughness and ability of Anquan Boldin. There is no doubt that fans will never get over the Ravens trading Boldin away after the Super Bowl. However the fans have to be thankful for the three years he had in Baltimore. Boldin was one of the toughest players in the history of the game and he made some of the biggest plays in Ravens history.

The Ravens needed a weapon to compliment Mason, Todd Heap and their stellar rushing attack. Boldin was that extra piece, the last thing they needed to be able to be a championship caliber offense. Newsome pulled off a beautiful move, making a trade which the Ravens clearly won. When the Ravens won the Super Bowl, Boldin being the sure handed weapon in a tough situation was a big part of it.

Boldin never had a 1,000 yard season in Baltimore. He never had more than four regular season touchdowns as a Raven. When it mattered most, Boldin came up big for the Baltimore Ravens.
