Marcus Davenport. 16. player. 26. With Terrell Suggs in the twilight of his career, the Ravens should desperately be after his replacement. That could be Davenport, who could remind Baltimore fans of Adalius Thomas. —Dan Kadar. Edge Rusher. UT-San Antonio

If you want a more polarizing prospect than Marcus Davenport, you’d be hard-pressed to find one. Some consider Davenport to be the biggest boom-or-bust prospect in this class. And while that is certainly a scary thought to fans, Davenport’s upside is through the roof.

Simply put, the man has DeMarcus Ware-type upside. At 6’6″ 255-lbs., Davenport has the build of an absolutely dominant force off the edge. Yes, the Ravens have interesting pieces in Matt Judon and Tim Williams, but neither of them possesses the raw tools Davenport has.

The Ravens need a success plan for the eventual retirement of Terrell Suggs. Davenport could come in and be a rotational guy and develop properly on a loaded defense. The idea that he could eventually be a perennial 10+ sack guy is tantalizing. Call this a luxury pick, Davenport is the ultimate project who could become the face of the Ravens defense by year three.
