The Ravens have to shape the roster for the upcoming season but here are some things you can already be excited about:

The Baltimore Ravens are in the early stages of the offseason. It feels like it’s been the offseason forever, which is one of the nasty side affects of not making the post season. Now that the Super Bowl is in our rear view mirror, the Ravens can build towards getting the next one. In one of my previous posts I made a bold promise. I promised that if the Ravens get weapons for their offense that are good enough, they will be contenders. We don’t know how the purple and black will get better, but we can’t wait for them to make some moves.

There are some things we know about the 2018 season. That means we can spend our time today, looking at three things that the Ravens Flock can be excited about today.

1. Act II for Alex Collins

Alex Collins is one of the most exciting things to happen to the Ravens since they won the Super Bowl in the 2012 season. When Collins came on board, he changed everything for the Ravens offense. He became the workhorse in the backfield. There were times when Collins was unstoppable. Collins had six runs over 20 yards and one run over 40 yards. He took the Ravens running game to new heights with a 4.6 yards per carry average.

Collins got involved in week two of the season. This year he was a pleasant surprise. Even if the Ravens bring in another running back, Collins will come into this season with a different mindset. Last year he was on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad when the season got under way. This year he goes into training camp as a known commodity. That means he can get off to a faster start.

He doesn’t need to establish himself, or prove that he deserves touches. We know that he needs the football, and we know what he can do with it. Collins entering his second season with the Ravens is easily the most exciting thing we can wait for from the Baltimore Ravens.
