Using Fanspeak.com and their wonderful NFL Draft simulator I had an exciting pre-combine mock draft for the Baltimore Ravens:

The Baltimore Ravens have to be excited going into combine weekend knowing that they could significantly improve their team come draft time. Fans are going to clamor for offensive play makers but knowing the Ravens they are going to go best player available.

Using Fanspeak.com’s draft simulator I put myself into Ozzie Newsome’s shoes and tried to make the picks at each round. I tried to look at it like Ozzie would going best player available but also trying to fill some gaps. Fanspeak allows you to use a medley of big boards and different websites team needs to help shape how the draft works out. For this exercise I used Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller’s draft board and Fanspeak’s team needs, I also used a harder difficulty to make it more realistic.

First Round- Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama

AND RAVENS NATION GOES CRAZY. Yes that’s right, the receiver everyone wants falls to the Raven’s at 16 because Baker Mayfield falls to the Cardinals at 15. Ozzie Newsome finally gets Joe Flacco a viable weapon in the draft with the selection of the most polished receiver available. Ridley never put up flashy numbers at Alabama, but he also didn’t have the best quarterback situation with Jalen Hurts attempting to throw him the ball. Ridley was still able to make highlight after highlight throughout his Alabama career leading him to be the number one receiver in the draft.

Players Drafted After:

  • Derwin James, S, FSU
  • Mike McGlinchey, OT, ND
  • Marcus Davenport, DE/OLB, UTSA
