Ravens Free Agency Primer

The Browns got Jarvis Landry and the Chicago Bears have agreed with Allen Robinson. Sammy Watkins is going to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs. The long story short is that the Ravens have already lost most of their best options in the free agent market. The Ravens have to retool the offense and their ways of doing that are shrinking.

Moves already made:

  • Re-signed James Hurst to four year contract
  • Cut Lardarius Webb
  • Cut Danny Woodhead
  • Did not pick up Austin Howard’s option

Players to keep an eye on:

Ryan Jensen:

With the Ravens options lessening it makes it more likely that the Ravens will consider bringing Jensen back. He is probably going to go elsewhere. If the Ravens end up with nobody to help their passing game, and they free up cap space, they might feel inclined to spend the money on Jensen. With all that being said, Jensen’s pay day will probably be too lucrative for the Ravens.

Paul Richardson:

Paul Richardson is a player that could end up being the next domino to fall. I wouldn’t get too excited Ravens fans, but if you’re going to hope, this is the best target of that hope. Richardson is a big play threat that could end up becoming a number one receiver.

Jimmy Graham:

The Ravens tight end situation is less than ideal. Look for the Ravens to solve that with Graham. Graham if nothing else is a big bodied target and a top-tier red zone threat.

Mike Wallace:

Wallace has been a really good addition to the team. Would re-signing him be the most exciting news? No. However it could become a necessary move. Wallace will come at a reasonable price and he has a good chemistry with Joe Flacco.
