According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Willie Snead is visiting the Baltimore Ravens today. Hopefully the former New Orleans Saints receiver likes snow:

The Baltimore Ravens are going to meet with Willie Snead, which is the most interesting news of this snowy day in Maryland. My first reaction is that the Ravens should sign him, because a Snead is a thing everyone needs (Well according to Dr. Seuss, it was a thneed, but it still works). Snead could be an interesting pick up for the Ravens.

To say that Snead is coming off of a down year is an understatement. Snead had just eight receptions for 92 yards in 2017. His production fell off of a cliff, in 2016 72 receptions for 895 yards and four touchdowns. Snead has been a big play threat, in 2015 and 2016 he had 27 receptions over 20 yards. If the Ravens sign Snead, that is the type of production that they’re signing up for.

The Ravens already took one receiver looking for a bounce back year, when they signed the often injured, John Brown. Targeting Snead is continuing that pattern. It worked out for the purple and black when they signed Mike Wallace after a 39 reception season in Minnesota. If Snead reinvigorates his career in Baltimore, this will look like a genius move by Ozzie Newsome. The key here is to get a low risk deal done.

Ravens, we see what you’re doing:

There is no doubt what the Ravens look for when it comes to receivers. The number one reason they drafted Breshad Perriman was because of his speed. Wallace has always been known as a speed threat. They brought in Brown to be the next speed demon of the Ravens. The Ravens covet speed. It is possible that the dink and dunk offense was a by product of not having the tools at the pass catching position to do anything else. That’s certainly what Ravens fans would like to hear.

Snead coming to Baltimore doesn’t get the Ravens Flock on pins and needles the way the Michael Crabtree visit did, but it’s not a bad idea. The Ravens are focused on completely regrouping at the wide receiver position. That by itself is a breath of fresh air.
