The Baltimore Ravens are set to have a visit with Cameron Meredith, a restricted free agent from the Chicago Bears. The Ravens may have a tough time getting Meredith, but it would be an interesting addition:
When the Baltimore Ravens said they wanted to get better at wide receiver, they were telling the truth. The Ravens brought in Michael Crabtree and John Brown. They nearly signed Ryan Grant, before a controversial failed physical. Yesterday we learned that the Ravens have a couple of visits lined up for restricted free agent wide receivers. Yesterday we talked about the idea of bringing in Willie Snead. Today, we’re going to tell you about the other receiver that Ozzie Newsome has his eyes on, Cameron Meredith.
Meredith is an interesting option because he is a good receiver with a big 6’3″ frame. Meredith had 66 receptions for 888 yards and four touchdowns in 2016. He was a big play threat who averaged 13.5 yards per reception. Meredith is exactly what the Ravens need. He is a player that can come in right away and produce next to Michael Crabtree. This would at the very least give Baltimore two dependable receivers. If the signing happens and John Brown has a bounce back season, hello talented offense.
The Bottom Line:
The Ravens would have to have an offer that the Chicago Bears would feel uncomfortable matching. The Bears have a chance to match the offer the Ravens give Meredith, other than that there are no strings attached. The fact that the Bears have been so aggressive to put weapons around Mitchell Trubisky, suggests that the Bears would likely be willing to match.

The Ravens are at least being creative when it comes to fixing their receiving woes. They’re exploring every option to fix their weakest position group, possibly of all time. Meredith is a sure handed target who can be the number two target behind Crabtree. This would be a very good signing, we’ll have to see what happens.
