Round 5: Shaun Dion Hamilton, Linebacker, Alabama

Shaun Dion Hamilton is an instinctive linebacker who can run sideline to sideline and diagnose run plays with ease. He is a tad undersized at only six foot, but plays with a ferocity that makes up for it. He is able to shoot through gaps and blow up RPO’s while also having the speed to keep up in pass coverage.

Many Raven’s fans will be familiar with his running mate, Rashaan Evans, because he is a target in the first but Hamilton is on par with him without taking into the injury history. Now his injury history is definitely something to take into consideration because he has had back to back knee injuries that derailed his seasons. But in the 5th round you can afford to gamble with a talent like Hamilton.

Peanut Onwuasor played admirably last year, but he is never going to be more than a replacement level player. Also, Kamelei Correa has not made any progress at the position since they drafted him in the second round a few years ago. The Ravens need to stop being cute and go get someone who can play from day one.
