Dez Bryant is now a coveted free agent wide receiver but does he make sense for the Baltimore Ravens? I take a look at the pros and cons.

Just one day ago I wrote an article speculating that the Baltimore Ravens could be waiting for the potential release of Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant. What was once a possibility could now be a reality.

After a meeting with team owner Jerry Jones this afternoon, Bryant has been released, according to his agent.

Bryant was in the penultimate year of a $70 million extension but now hits the open market for the first time in his career. The veteran wide receiver reportedly left Dallas in spite and has vowed to make his former team regret their decision.

Just about every wide receiver-needy team will covet Bryant, the Ravens included. Given their need at the position, a player of this talent is too much to not inquire about.

Friday the 13th marks an unlucky time for Bryant but it gives the Ravens the chance to add an upper echelon receiver. I play Devil’s Advocate and stack up the pros against the cons for a potential signing.
