Welcome to a 7 round mock draft. I promise that I’ll focus on offense but indulge me with the 1st round pick. The Ravens need a linebacker and they get a great one in the 1st round.

Leighton Vander Esch. 16. player. 26. Leighton Vander Esch is one of the best defensive players in a defense heavy draft. When you look at the Ravens needs, inside linebacker should not be ignored. Speed at the linebacker position is hard to find and that’s what this linebacker from Boise State has. The Ravens could force the situation at wide receiver, but they don’t need to now that Michael Crabtree, John Brown and Willie Snead are Ravens. The tight ends would be a bit of a reach with the 16th pick and this draft is too important to reach on a player. In the end Vander Esch could give the Ravens the best linebacker duo of any 3-4 team. Vander Esch is an agressive linebacker and a sure tackler. He’ll help the Ravens against the run and help the Ravens match up with athletic tight ends in the passing game.. LB. Boise St.

Round 2:

52. player. 26. Ian Thomas is the best tight end that the casual fan may not have heard of. He is not much of a blocker, but he is a serious weapon for the passing game. He has a similar skill set as Evan Engram, who the Giants drafted in the first round last year. Like Engram he is a great athlete who is almost like a big bodied wide receiver. Thomas would be a good get for a team that wants to improve the passing game desperately. With the 52nd pick, the Ravens are getting great value. I have him ranked as my 59th best player. With this pick the Ravens are getting a go to weapon for the offense.. TE. Indiana. Ian Thomas
