We’re only a few days away from the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. There are a number of routes that the Ravens could take on the first day that will influence the rest of their draft. While running back may not be a position of need for the Ravens, they have yet to commit to Alex Collins as their lead dog for 2018, and I don’t believe any offensive position is off the table in Ozzie’s final draft as GM.

Not only have the Ravens been hesitant to commit to Collins, but they have a question mark when it comes to Kenneth Dixon and his availability. In limited playing time, Dixon looked good for the Ravens, but injuries and suspensions have left his future role with the team in question. Buck Allen has been a solid back in his three years with the team, but he is a role player that isn’t ever going to be a three-down back for the Ravens.

Combine that with the fact that the Ravens have shown some interest in a potential first round running back in Derrius Guice, and it becomes increasingly easier to believe the Ravens are open to drafting a running back in this draft. The Ravens brought Guice in for a visit in March.

Personally, I believe if the Ravens take a running back in this class, I think it will be on day three of the draft. Other than the chance of Guice possibly in round one, I don’t think they’re going to stray too far from their roster needs in the early rounds. But hey, that’s probably why I don’t work in their front office. Let’s take a look at three backs they could select throughout these three draft days.
