We’re at the unofficial start of summer. Here is a look at what the Baltimore Ravens 53 man roster could look like to start the season.

The season of mock drafts has come and gone and now it is time to project the 53 man roster.  Here is my first stab at it. This will be my first of a handful of looks at the roster this summer.

Quarterbacks:

  • Joe Flacco
  • Lamar Jackson

This is fairly self-explanatory. The Ravens never keep more than two quarterbacks. This is the most exciting pair of passers the Ravens have had in the Joe Flacco era. Behind Flacco is Lamar Jackson. Jackson is supposed to be the future of the franchise, but that future isn’t supposed to start just yet.

Flacco is expected to get an extra push from Jackson. The motivation should be there and Flacco has a lot to play for. If Flacco plays well, nobody will be thinking about Jackson until 2019.

Running backs:

  • Alex Collins
  • Buck Allen
  • Kenneth Dixon

Alex Collins is going to be the workhorse of the offense. The thing the Ravens have to figure out is who the number two running back will be. When the Ravens get back to football, Kenneth Dixon will be back into the fold. This changes a very good dynamic that the team developed between Collins and Allen. Dixon’s impact on the roster is going to be interesting.

If you were looking for fullbacks, I have Pat Ricard listed as a defensive lineman for simplicity’s sake. Ricard will be the Ravens fullback from the looks of it. The Ravens will have a lot of eyes on the backfield this preseason. It is no secret that running the football well is key to a Joe Flacco team winning. Baltimore may finally be able to recreate the success of the 2014 season with a running game that is going to be very strong.
