4. Ravens Defense:

There are four words that matter in this discussion: No More Dean Pees. Pees held the Ravens defense back for years and it really squashed what could have been a fantasy football gold mine. Aggressive defense leads to big fantasy numbers. Sacks and turnovers are a good way to win games. A fantasy defense either gets you a little or it gets you a huge chunk of points. Don Martindale may be able to get more out of the defense.

The Ravens had a good 2017 season in terms of turnovers. Baltimore’s defense was +17 in the turnover ratio and had 23 interceptions. The Ravens are one of the better teams at forcing fumbles, so that’s another way they can help your lineup.  These numbers will only go up if Martindale makes the changes that they should make. The Ravens also have a long list of pass rushers. Terrell Suggs and Matt Judon had 19 sacks combined last year. Who knows who will give a boost behind them, maybe it will be Tyus Bowser or Za’Darius Smith. The point is that pass rusher is a place where the Ravens are talented.

Are the Ravens the top defense that should go off the board? No. Are they a defense that could have some big games? Absolutely. When the defense gets rolling, fantasy football players are going to have a lot of fun with the Ravens defense starting on Sundays. I know one thing, a more aggressive defense is just what the doctor ordered in Baltimore. Let’s bring back organized chaos.
