1. Should the Ravens consider having Flacco under center more?

The Ravens running game would be behooved if the Ravens had Flacco under center more. The shotgun running game can sometimes be hard to get going because it takes too long for running plays to develop. The running back has to take a big sideways step to get the ball from the quarterback. Putting Flacco under center would allow Collins to generate a full head of steam before defensive players even knew what to do with him.

Putting Flacco under center would encourage a more ground and pound styled offense. It would also make Flacco’s play-action more convincing. The Ravens offense has been too dependent on shotgun formations. Flacco is also too dependent on check-downs. Maybe, dropping back from under center more, would lead to an honest progression from Flacco. This may not be the biggest thing for the Ravens to think about, but it is worth consideration.
