2. Who are the Ravens best 5?

Well obviously, Marshal Yanda is the best player the Ravens have on the offensive line. Yanda is the best right guard in franchise history and he is a future Hall of Fame candidate one way or another. Ronnie Stanley is the left tackle and he’s the second best player on the unit. After that there is no clear cut order, which makes training camp kind of fun. The Ravens don’t have established order on the offensive line depth chart.

Best 5 vs. Most Practical 5

The next most established name is James Hurst and he will have to compete for snaps at the left guard job. Alex Lewis showed promise but he’s missed a lot of time due to injury and we still have to see how good he can really be. When the Ravens get back on the field, one thing the coaches will be looking for is who emerges as the best left guard. Right tackle goes to Brown Jr. unless he proves that he can’t get it. This leaves center and left guard as the unlocked starting jobs.

Here is the top five players as I see them: Yanda, Stanley, Brown Jr., Lewis, Hurst. This plays into the idea of having a guard play center because three of the top five players are guards. The Ravens may be in a situation where they have to choose from the most talented lineup or the most practical one. This is something to keep an eye on.
