1. Could Nico Siragusa become a surprise starter?

Nico Siragusa is a guard with some center experience at San Diego State. That plays into his favor. Secondly, Siragusa may be the best run blocker the Ravens have not named Yanda. You haven’t seen it yet because he spent his rookie year on injured reserve, but Siragusa has talent. Siragusa was a bully in the running game for San Diego State. He was a fourth round pick in 2017.  He won’t be expected to start, but he is good enough to give himself a chance at the starting lineup.

The Ravens offensive line situation is ripe for a surprise player.to emerge. Siragusa wasn’t in the swing of things last season. He has been out of sight but he shouldn’t be out of mind. Watching his game tape from San Diego State is like watching a plow push 8 feet of snow, like it’s easy. The Ravens could have gotten a steal here. Watch what Siragusa does in the preseason. I would not be shocked if he climbs into the starting job before the dress rehearsal. Having an extra preseason game, should help his chances.

When the Ravens get to the player evaluation that comes from training camp practices and preseason games, they may find themselves changing their perspective on the offensive line. Baltimore has to see this play out, because the offensive line is malleable and the positions have to be earned. Siragusa is a player to watch. When you need Ravens coverage, Ebony Bird is always here.
