The Baltimore Ravens seemed set in the secondary, but they have interest in signing Bashaud Breeland:

According to a report from Josina Anderson of ESPN, the Baltimore Ravens are set to visit with Bashaud Breeland. Breeland is a free agent cornerback who probably shouldn’t be available, but he failed his physical with the Carolina Panthers so here we are. Breeland is a talented cornerback, since 2014 he has racked up eight interceptions. Breeland would not fill a dire need for the Ravens, however bringing him in would make Baltimore a better team.

The first big question is why do the purple and black want Breeland? The Ravens led the league in imterceptions last year and are expecting to have a top flight set of defensive backs. John Harbaugh and Don Martindale know that they have at least six good players to put at the cornerback position. Breeland would make the Ravens have a spoil of riches in the secondary. If Breeland is healthy, he is a solid cornerback who has play-making ability.

The Ravens may still feel the need for an insurance plan for Jimmy Smith, their often injured star cornerback. When Smith is on the field, he is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL and the Ravens have a strong combination at cornerback. When is the keyword. While the Ravens secondary is deeper than it has ever been in the Harbaugh era, it is understandable if the Ravens want to add a little comfort. When your top cornerback is injury prone, you can use all the talent you can get.
