3. Lamar Jackson looking sharp

The number one thing you want to see out of Lamar Jackson is that he looks sharp. You want to see him drop back and make passes from the pocket. You don’t want to see him scramble instead of hitting open receivers. You don’t want to see bad throws because of bad mechanics. What the Ravens need to see from Jackson is that he gets it, and he can run the offense the way it was intended to be run.

It will be interesting to see how much time Jackson gets in this game. You would think that the Ravens would benefit from seeing Jackson get some reps against the best players the Bears will send on the field. The Ravens don’t need to see Robert Griffin III do his thing, they know what he brings to the table. They need to see Jackson in a game. Jackson was listed as the third quarterback on the Ravens first depth chart, but the reps are so much more valuable to Jackson then they are to Griffin III.

It will also be interesting what the Ravens do when Jackson is on the field. Will Marty Mornhinweg tell him to let it rip, or will they set him up for safe but confidence building throws? This will be a good glimpse at how far a long the Ravens think Jackson is, and how capable they believe he is of doing it all. Jackson doesn’t have to wow us, but it would be nice if he looked the part of a 1st round pick. It would be good to see Jackson look sharp in his first NFL action.
