Pros:

I can give you a million-and-a-half pros as to why adding Khalil Mack would benefit Baltimore.

For starters, the Ravens have a plethora of young talent at edge rusher, but none of them are Khalil Mack. Matt Judon looks the part, and guys like Tim Williams and Tyus Bowser could be great down the road. However, Kamalei Correa, who has looked good thus far this preseason, is a free agent after 2018. Judon is a free agent after 2019, and Bowser is likely better suited for inside linebacker duties.

Terrell Suggs is a future Hall of Famer, but the soon-to-be 36-year old isn’t going to be around for too much longer. Even if he opted not retire after 2018, Suggs will be an unrestricted free agent following the season, and given his age the Ravens might not even resign him, as upsetting as that is.

Meanwhile, Khalil Mack would be the future at pass rusher for the next 5-6 years. Not only this, but Mack becomes an immediate cornerstone of defense and significantly makes the team as a whole better. Mack is already a Hall of Fame talent and is building up quite the resume for when he does eventually retire. The 2016 NFL Defensive Player of the Year has 40.5 career sacks since 2014 and a minimum of 73 tackles every year. The former Buffalo Bull has also never missed a start in his four-year NFL career.

Adding Mack to this Ravens defense puts the team over the top. A talented secondary gets matched with a massive defensive line and a great pass rush. This opens the door for a Super Bowl window, as we’ve seen that the most common element to a championship is through dominant defenses.
