2. A young receiver to step up:

If Breshad Perriman is going to under perform, hopefully he does it in the preseason. The Ravens roster battle at wide receiver is actually quite incredible. They cannot waste a roster spot on Perriman, but he has been the most productive receiver this preseason. Perriman has five receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown. Janarion Grant is the only other receiver with three preseason receptions.

There is a lot of hype around the Ravens young receivers. The hype train steamrolling around Tim White started last season. Now he has a chance to make the team as a kick returner first, and a receiver second. Jordan Lasley is thought to be a diamond in the rough. Lasley runs good routes, and has looked impressive. It would be nice if a young receiver like Lasley or White would step up and put on a show.

The Ravens need to start shaping the 53 man roster now. They don’t have any cuts imminent, but they should be prepared for the first wave of them. This is when players need to stand out and show that they belong. The Ravens have to see what the young wide receivers on the team are capable of. They have to know what to expect from players like Lasley, White and Jaleel Scott. The best way to prove oneself in the NFL, is making plays on the field.
