The Baltimore Ravens won 20-19 against the Indianapolis Colts. Here are three big things to takeaway from the Ravens third preseason contest:

1. The starting offense is ready to roll:

Remember how the Baltimore Ravens started last season on offense? Joe Flacco had a back injury and didn’t play in the preseason. The offense showed lots of reason for concern in the exhibition games and then the offense sputtered out of the gate. The 2018 preseason is giving the purple and black a much better start to the season offensively. Flacco has started two preseason contests in a row, and he’s delivered two touchdown drives that were quite frankly, a piece of cake. Flacco had to catch up to things a year ago, but this preseason he is looking dominant.

In two preseason games, Flacco has only thrown four incomplete passes and has a passer rating of 141.4. Flacco has not lived up to his mega contract, yet he looks like a new quarterback this year. Flacco has more help on the offense and it is already showing. Michael Crabtree has caught two long passes from Flacco. John Brown had a touchdown against the Colts and his impact was easy to see. Hayden Hurst, who the Ravens took in the 1st round of the 2018 NFL Draft, has been as impressive as any Ravens 1st round pick has been in years.

The Ravens could be ready to bring a much improved passing attack to the table. Baltimore already knows that the team can deliver on the ground. Things are looking up for the Ravens offense, which may just be a very exciting and balanced unit.
