Bottom line:

The narrative that Joe Flacco isn’t a good enough quarterback to win you games is hogwash. Quarterbacks in general are the largest percentage of why teams win games. When you’re quarterback play is bad, 90% of the time your team is going to be losing games frequently. Where the Ravens luck out is this roster is set to win now.

The Ravens host an elite defense and a more-than-capable run game behind a solid offensive line. Coupled with an above-average receiving core and solid quarterback play, that’s a recipe for 10-wins, a playoff spot, and maybe even a post season run. So then, what’s stopping Flacco in 2018? The man looks outstanding this preseason (take it with a grain of salt) and clearly he is motivated and comfortable in this offense. All signs should be trending upwards.

Short of Alex Collins rushing for 2,000-yards or the defense outmatching the 2000 Ravens unit, this team will need equal cooperation throughout the board. Joe Flacco will need to pull his weight just as much as the guys next to him. But in 2018, the narrative feels different. This team feels different. Joe Flacco feels different.

We’ve seen it before, a motivated Joe Flacco is capable of almost anything. The Ravens will go as far as he takes this team, and with the circumstances lining up the way they have, it feels like 2018 could be magical. Buckle up, Ravens Flock. The 2018 season is going to be a hell of a ride, and Joe Flacco is sitting in the front row of this roller-coaster.
