Joe Flacco continues to dominate:
Joe Flacco must’ve felt the front office light the stove underneath him, because he’s certainly playing hot right now (I will not apologize for that pun). In two brief appearances this preseason, Flacco has gone 12/16 pass completions/attempts with two touchdowns and zero interceptions. Call it an overreaction, but this is perhaps the best Joe Flacco we’ve seen since the 2012 playoffs.
Flacco has simply looked precise, comfortable, and confident in his play; something we aren’t used to seeing from the 11-year vet. But, this is such a small sample size to gather information off of. Going into dress rehearsal week, all eyes will be glued on Joe Flacco and how he performs. This isn’t just in Charm City either, as the Ravens have been made media darlings thanks to Lamar Jackson. This week will be a big stage for Flacco to step onto.
Thankfully, Flacco is no stranger to adversary. Clearly, he’s shown this preseason that he’s on a mission to prove his worth. Now with dress rehearsal week nearing, Flacco has been gift-wrapped the perfect scenario.
While the Miami Dolphins defense is by no means some titan force to be reckoned with, it is still going to be the Ravens first taste of a first-team defense in 2018. Guys like Cameron Wake and Kiko Alonso will take the field, and Flacco should be on his A-game. Judging off the performances we’ve been treated to thus far, I feel pretty confident in assuming that we will see more of the same.
With a bevy of new toys to play with, the Ravens will want to see Joe Flacco utilize them all during Saturday night’s game against Miami. We should expect to see Flacco on the field for at least the first half, and that should be more than enough to dazzle us once again.
