The Ravens played an extra preseason game this year because of their involvement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game. It all started against the Chicago Bears in Canton Ohio and it ended this Thursday against the Washington Redskins. Preseason football was a decent appetizer but it’s time to get on with the regular season.
To get started with the regular season the Ravens have to trim their roster to 53 players. This means the Ravens are going to have to make some tough choices. With five preseason games and some joint practices with the Los Angeles Rams and the Indianapolis Colts, the Ravens got as good of a look at a preseason roster as they ever will. The Ravens have to make some close calls, they have to be strategic with their roster.
The Ravens stayed mostly healthy through most of the preseason. However an injury to Hayden Hurst and a suspension to Jimmy Smith shook everything up. The Ravens lost a couple of defensive backs for the season in the last two preseason games in Stanley Jean-Baptiste and DeShon Kizer. Earlier this week the Ravens traded away Kamalei Correa.
