Defense and Special Teams:
Defensive Line:
- Brandon Williams
- Pat Ricard
- Michael Pierce
- Brent Urban
- Willie Henry
- Chris Wormley
- Zach Sieler
The Baltimore Ravens defensive line has been one of the most impressive units in the NFL over the past two decades. This defensive line group has a chance to shine. Brandon Williams is an elite run stopping defensive tackle. Brent Urban has a chance to take the next step in his career. Willie Henry is a pass rusher that everybody should keep their eye on. In this projection, I have Zach Sieler making the roster, because he has too much potential to be stuck on the practice squad.
Outside Linebacker:
- Terrell Suggs
- Matt Judon
- Tim Williams
- Tyus Bowser
- Za’Darius Smith
The Ravens traded Kamalei Correa to the Tennessee Titans, which brought a little bit of clarity to the position battle here. Basically everyone but Bronson Kaufusi makes the roster. Kaufusi played a great game against the Washington Redskins’ backups but it was a little too late. It was the first time since he was drafted in 2016 that he’s really flashed.
Inside Linebacker:
- C.J. Mosley
- Kenny Young
- Patrick Onwuasor
This one is the easiest position to project of the 53 man roster. Mosley is one of the best linebackers in football. The only question is who will play next to him on Sunday. The answer could be either Kenny Young or Patrick Onwuasor, but both are obviously making the team.
Cornerback:
- Marlon Humphrey
- Tavon Young
- Brandon Carr
- Maurice Canady
- Anthony Averett
Jimmy Smith will take his spot back after the fourth game of the season (that fourth game happens to be another battle with the Steelers that Smith will miss). This brings another roster spot up for grabs. The problem is that the Ravens have seen Stanley Jean-Baptiste get hurt, and Bennett Jackson is also sidelined.
Safety:
- Eric Weddle
- Tony Jefferson
- Chuck Clark
- Anthony Levine
- Kai Nacua
The injuries to Jean-Baptiste and DeShon Elliott open the door for Kai Nacua to make the team. Nacua is a bubble player who had a pick six in the Ravens final preseason game. He’s had a great preseason. The Ravens have the best safety combination in the NFL with Eric Weddle and Tony Jefferson. The depth here is outstanding as well.
Specialists:
- Justin Tucker
- Sam Koch
- Morgan Cox
This one you already knew. The best kicking and punting situation in the NFL returns.
