3. Keeping the defensive front fully stocked

The Ravens have seven defensive linemen if you count Pat Ricard, who is the team’s fullback. Baltimore has five outside linebackers, and all of them can play. The Ravens should be able to keep everyone fresh up front. That means that the run defense should be consistent and the pass rush should be relentless.

Terrell Suggs is coming off an 11 sack season and the Ravens could theoretically get even more out of him this year. If Tim Williams is the player that he presented himself to be in the preseason, and everybody else continues to work at their expected pace, the outside linebacker group will always be productive.

2. Not overdoing it:

Baltimore didn’t force it with any of their roster spots. The Ravens could have justified keeping Bronson Kaufusi, who played well in the last preseason game. Kaufusi, who didn’t do much in the first four preseason games, would have been an afterthought in the Ravens rotation at outside linebacker. The Ravens cut Nico Siragusa, who was setback by injury. Siragusa may end up on the practice squad, but the Ravens knew they weren’t getting much from him in 2018, and the former fourth round pick didn’t get a roster spot. There is a reasonable number of players at every position, without a lot of excess.
