3. Bronson Kaufusi

Continuing the trend of great athletic ability yielding almost no results, Bronson Kaufusi is the next player on our list. Kaufusi is a huge edge defender, but that size hasn’t seemed to matter. Until the fourth and final preseason game, Kaufusi didn’t make much of a mark on the Ravens. He missed his entire 2016 season with a broken leg, and didn’t really play much in 2017. Kaufusi ends his run with the Ravens with five regular season tackles on his resume.

Kaufusi had 10 total tackles and two sacks in the preseason, which is a misleading line of stats. Eight of his tackles and both sacks came in the fifth and final preseason game. Kaufusi was lining up against players who were either destined to be cut, or were severely on the roster bubble. That was a little too late to start impressing at outside linebacker.

Kaufusi did manage to look like a better player at his new position, but the position change doomed him from the get go. Outside linebacker is the best position group the Ravens have. Kaufusi trying to join that group would be like an average guy trying to join the Rolling Stones. He has potential at outside linebacker because of his length, but the Ravens have too much of a rotation at that position to let him show it. That’s why Kaufusi got cut.
