2. Vince Mayle

The most forgot about player and under appreciated player on this list has to be Vince Mayle. Mayle was a solid contributor to the Ravens last season. He is a good special teams player and a decent blocker. While he isn’t much of a play-maker, he has reliable hands and is a high effort player. Mayle even scored a touchdown last season against the Oakland Raiders, which is pictured above.

Mayle played well in the preseason. One could argue that the Ravens would get more out of Mayle than they would Maxx Williams, but Mayle not making the team isn’t exactly shocking. Mayle was just a solid player who did all the little things right. The Ravens only need three tight ends, Williams only made the roster because of Hurst’s injury.

Nick Boyle will do most of the work that Mayle would need to do if he made the roster. In the end Mayle wasn’t an explosive enough play-maker to make the 53 man roster. He provides value, but there just wasn’t a spot for him on the team.
