2. The Ravens looked as good as they have in years, albeit against a bad team

The Bills stink. It’s not an insult, it’s a fact. The Bills are one of the worst teams in the league with a quarterback situation that can’t be envied. We’ve told you all week at Ebony Bird that this was a game that the Ravens could only lose if they beat themselves. The Bills beating the Ravens was never going to happen. This was the Ravens taking care of a sure win.

That’s nothing to scoff at. The Ravens have a history of losing games they shouldn’t. Last year it was a battle with the Bills that saw an embarrassing overtime loss, and the season finale against a struggling Bengals team. The year before that it was a game against the Jets that felt like rock bottom.

Baltimore knows it can’t take anything for granted. Will the Ravens start destroying their weaker opponents on a regular basis? That remains to be seen. As of now, the purple and black have a 1-0 record and they didn’t let the Bills even make it a game. When the Ravens play like that, they are going to be hard to beat. Consistency is important and now the Ravens understand the level of play they can reach. John Harbaugh and company just set the bar high.
