The Baltimore Ravens are 2-1 after a huge win. Here are three game balls for the standout performers:

1. Joe Flacco

We have to start with the quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens. Joe Flacco was one of the biggest reasons for the week 3 victory against the Broncos. Flacco was 25-40 for 277 yards and a touchdown. The Ravens were going against a team with a great pass rush, and a good front seven. Flacco had to do most of the work. While the offensive line did a phenomenal job keeping him upright (allowing only two sacks) Flacco made timely decisions that kept him away from trouble.

Flacco was a play-maker in this game. In other words, he earned his money today. The Ravens running game hasn’t been consistent. Alex Collins had some nice plays, but the Ravens can’t string good runs together. Flacco had to be the reason the offense ticked. The offense was actually fun to watch. Flacco connected eight different players. He had a 44 yard shot to John Brown. He had a 30 yard dagger to Mark Andrews. He was turnover free and he kept a lot of drives alive with clutch throws.

The expectations for Flacco are always going to be high. He’s a Super Bowl MVP who has struggled to live up to his expectations. Guess what? This has been the best start to a season the Delaware product has ever had. Flacco has weapons and he isn’t banged up or bothered by an injury. Whatever you think of Marty Mornhinweg, the offense is rolling and Flacco’s chemistry with him is paying off. This was huge from Flacco.
