2. Kenny Young
Kenny Young was so fast on the football field, we don’t even have a picture from this game. Look, he was filling in for C.J. Mosley as a fourth round pick. If he didn’t exceed your expectations, you are insane. Young led the team in tackles and turned a major concern into no big deal. For that he gets a game ball.
The Broncos did run the football better than you would have liked, but the Broncos run game didn’t control the game. Take out the Emmanuel Sanders reverse play and the Ravens held the Broncos to under 100 rushing yards. The Broncos have a good running game and good running backs, but Young and company prevented that from being the difference. All the Broncos could do efficiently in the second half was run the football.
While Patrick Onwuasor got the clutch red zone interception, Young shined the whole game. If you would have told me before the game that Mosley’s absence wouldn’t lead to the second ranked rushing attack walking all over the Ravens, I would have been desperate to believe you. Young showed that he is a future star in the making. He made an impact in both run and pass defense and his athleticism is amazing.
