Michael Crabtree vs. the other two receivers:

– Crabtree signed a 3-year, $21-million dollar contract with the Ravens.

– Currently leads the NFL with seven drops.
– He has one receiving touchdown through five weeks.
– His 250 yards receiving is good for 50th among NFL receivers.

Now let’s compare those marks with the other two Ravens receivers:

John Brown

– Brown signed a one-year, $5-million dollar deal with the Ravens.

– Has recorded one drop on 30 passing targets.
– He has three touchdowns through the first five weeks.
– 396 yards receiving.

Willie Snead

– Snead signed a 2-year, $7-million dollar contract with the Ravens.

– Has recorded ZERO drops on 26 passing targets.
– Has one touchdown through the first five weeks.
– 253 yards receiving.

Now the following is the comparison that really interested me the most. Remember Ryan Grant? The receiver that infamously failed his physical with the Ravens, just after agreeing to a large, multi-year contract, subsequently leading to Crabtree signing with the Ravens? Look how their production looks side-by-side:

Crabtree: 24 catches for 250 yards and one touchdown. Seven drops.

Grant: 24 catches for 246 yards and one touchdown. One drop.

Yikes.
