Patrick Peterson:

We can’t have a trade deadline list without at least mentioning Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson. Is it unrealistic? Entirely. Could it happen? I mean, anything can but I would bet against it. This is the NFL, however, and in today’s league we see huge trades happen on what seems like a weekly basis. Would it really be that surprising to see PP21 on the move?

For what it’s worth, Baltimore should at least do their due diligence on Peterson and see what the Cardinals are interested in. Obviously, it’ll cost an arm and a leg and then they’ll ask you to move a mountain for Peterson, but a player of his caliber doesn’t come around very often. With the declining play of Jimmy Smith, matching Peterson across from Marlon Humphrey is enough to get any Defensive Coordinator excited.

Peterson comes in at a decent price, as he’ll make just under $12 million in 2019 and then ~$13 million in 2020 before becoming a Free Agent at age 31. Peterson is still in his prime, albeit towards the end of it, but he can still slow down any team’s number one receiver. Should Baltimore somehow pull the trigger, adding Patrick Peterson would make this Ravens defense something unheard of.

The NFL trade deadline is around the corner and we should expect to see plenty of moves be made between now and then. Whether or not Baltimore jumps into the fray is yet to be seen. Either way, fans will be paying close attention and will be hoping for the Ravens to make some kind of move to upgrade their roster even a little bit.
