Terrell Suggs:

The ageless wonder will glide his way to his eighth Pro Bowl nod thanks to name recognition and a solid stat line. On the year, Terrell Suggs has 5.5 sacks and has been a constant terror for opposing quarterbacks. Everyone knows who Suggs is for good reason, and the old man has continued to stay dominant at the ripe old age of 36.

We all know T-Sizzle is a future Hall of Famer and is only continuing to add to his fantastic resume with each passing year. Should he continue his current pace in 2018 (11 sacks), he’d propel himself passed Jared Allen for 11th all-time on the sack list (136.5), just one behind Hall of Famers John Randle and Richard Dent.

The stats speak for themselves, but again, everyone knows who Terrell Suggs is and this will help him immensely come voting time. Suggs remains the heart and soul of this Ravens defense and is by far the biggest reason he deserves another Pro Bowl ticket to his name.

Michael Pierce:

It’s far time the NFL introduced Nose Tackle as a position on the Pro Bowl ballet. While these guys get dirty and do all the hard-work that makes their linebacker’s jobs so much easier, the NFL and its voters are more obsessed with sacks and other stats. It’s a miserable time being a Nose Tackle and receiving little-to-no recognition for their efforts. Don’t worry though, I see you Michael Pierce.

The league revolves around numbers and gives certain players an edge when it comes to Pro Bowl voting. While this isn’t to say other Defensive Tackles in the AFC aren’t worthy, it simply doesn’t do justice to the big-men upfront eating blocks. Geno Atkins and Michael Pierce are asked to do entirely different things, so why group them together?

Regardless, Pierce has just 11 tackles on the season but has been the best Nose Tackle in the league by far. Pierce has been instrumental to a Ravens defense that has been lights out for most of the year, and it’s far time he’s given recognition for his craft.
