6. C.J. Mosley is not playing like a top money linebacker:

One fear the Ravens Flock may have in the offseason is the potential of losing C.J. Mosley. The problem is that Mosley will likely be coveted in the free agent market and will warrant top linebacker money. It would be one thing if Mosley was playing like an elite linebacker, but his impact is barely being felt. Mosley lacks any consistency at all in pass coverage and his four tackle performance against Pittsburgh was seriously underwhelming.

Mosley is not a bad player. That is important to note here. The argument isn’t that he stinks and that Eric DeCosta should move on. The argument is that he isn’t playing like a Luke Kuechly or a Bobby Wagner. The Ravens just drafted Kenny Young (in the fourth round) and he looks like the real deal at linebacker. Replacing Mosley with an acceptable fill in is not impossible.

The ideal situation is that Mosley comes back at the right price. If Mosley keeps having games like he’s had against the Panthers and the Steelers, his price tag may drop in the Ravens price range. The most likely scenario is that Mosley gets top linebacker money in Baltimore or another NFL city. That’s a thought that has to worry DeCosta, or at the very least, give him pause.
